E-mail, contacts, calendars, photos, videos and documents: all shared and accessible, in The Cloud.
Which cloud? Yours.
Where? At home, on your PC.
For business too? Sure.
The talk illustrates technologies and methodologies for creating a private server.
The first part focuses on internet's recent history and describes how it changed. Free and open source software togheder with the (quite unlimited) resources of web tech giants (Google, Microsoft, Apple, etc ...) allowed the creation of countless services: from e-mail to contacts and calendars management, from automatic cloud backup to shared videos and documents.
After definition and interpretation of the "cloud" term, tools needed for obtaining technological independence (own server configuration) are presented. Software, tools and solutions are listed and describled in detail.
The last part is dedicated to description of a real world case: configuration, from 2010 onwards, of three business server.
